On its first year in 2005, they separated themselves from other male competetions in its desire to elevate male pageants to greater heights in terms of respectability, originality and its intention to bring about honest and clean selection process. On its first year Joseph Kidwell became the man of the hour as he jostled and hustled all competetors who individually are would-be winners themselves. For three years now Dominican Republic had been the host of Mr. Handsome International, and three years they have made an honest selection of the contest. The thing called "hometown decision" was far from their mind. All they want is to have their candidates join the contest and whatever results they accept it with open arms. No 'sweet lemons" nor" sour grapes". This year they are being represented by Starling Jimenez, a tall hunk of a man. When the winners were called, Starling was every inch gentleman who can accept defeat with no complaints whatsoever. And for us ... he will go down in our books as at true model of sportmanship and brotherhood.

You see it is anybody's guess. In other words anybody can win. Whether you are small or tall, big or small, black or white, lanky or well built, handsome or not-so handsome, winning trophies and crowns depends on a lot of factors. It is anybody's ballgame and sometimes LUCK or even a perfect TIMING can work on your side. Luis Fernando Menegazzo is a perfect example. He is handsome no doubt about it, he has the talent everybody agrees with that, and his personality is awesome. But he is smaller as compared to the winner Andres Rosales of Venezuela who has all what it takes... a perfect embodiment of a pageant winner - beauty, height, personality, good physique ... and brains too. He is also lacking in muscles where Mr. Rosales have a plenty. But look where he is now! He is first runner up in Mr. Young International division, just a hairbreath or a stonethrow from the crown. Pheeeew! So, those of you who are reading this page who have the crown or the title written in their dreams, don't lose hope. Keep on trying. And keep on dreaming. In Asia, Thailand is one of the most pageant crazy country, with Philippines and India elbowing each other in the forefront..Anybody can cash in as producer, and it seems like even small towns and cities are following suit as they create their own unique pageants ... to the delight of their supporter and fans. . Enthusiasm from pageant sponsors are mushrooming and the public is biting, judging from a queue of pageant fans lining in the box office. Participation from the "men" becomes an exciting phase and competetion from one agent to another talent manager is becoming stiff. In this spread, Thailand shows their own inginuity as they wowed their audience with their most colorful ensemble of Thai costumes and native dresses in one of this so called pageants. . Unfortunately we can't say more of the candidates names, as getting an interpreter can be so costly. So just feast your eyes guys. It all started when he joined Mossimo Bikini Open Summit 2007. He was not even the winner, but his miniscule participation open the doors for even bigger things to come. Now that he is now an ABS cBN baby, nobody can frown the fringe benifits that goes with it - being idolozed, being recognized, being hugged and embraced, not to mention being linked to beautiful women in and out of showbiz. From his little coccoon, Ron is now flapping his wings to even greater heights. He will now pit talents with no less than Palos himself, Mr. Jake Cuenca.
