With Miss Universe and Miss World revving into gear, a lot of pageant buffs really need some relaxants to soothe their overworked eyes from all that delicious feasting.

But as they say ... seize the day! This is only one of this rare instance where our penchant for leering and daydreaming can do us no harm. In fact , we can ogle and stare all we want and no pageant candidate will lift a finger in protest.

My friend even thinks, it might be a matter of discourtesy if we don't oblige these candidates with admiring glances.

So dear pageant afficionados ... you are allowed to scrutinize and look.

Pageant Finals: Miss Universe 1988

The winners of Miss Universe 1988 from left to right: Yunjung Chang- Korea- First RU; Porntip Nahkirunkanok- Thailand- Winner Miss Universe 1988, and Amanda Olivares- Mexico- second RU. Miss Japan -Mizuhp Sakaguchi was third RU and Miss Hongkong Pauline Yeung was 4th RU. The pageant was held in a sports stadium outside Taipei. The number of candidates-66.

The winners of Miss World 1993 are the following: -South Africa- first runner up, Lisa Hanna Jamaica- Miss World 1993; Ruffa Gutierrez-Philippines- second runner up. The pageant was held in Johannesberg South Africa.
