With Miss Universe and Miss World revving into gear, a lot of pageant buffs really need some relaxants to soothe their overworked eyes from all that delicious feasting.

But as they say ... seize the day! This is only one of this rare instance where our penchant for leering and daydreaming can do us no harm. In fact , we can ogle and stare all we want and no pageant candidate will lift a finger in protest.

My friend even thinks, it might be a matter of discourtesy if we don't oblige these candidates with admiring glances.

So dear pageant afficionados ... you are allowed to scrutinize and look.

Venus Raj: The Morning After

Venus Raj ... the morning after clinching the fourth runner up spot in the 2010 edition of Miss Universe ... was deluged with offers both in modelling and television work. No other than the two television giants were fighting "mano a mano" on who can match and who can offer a job Venus can't ignore. For one Venus is a Mass Com graduate with a "cum laude attach to her cap.
And when ABS CBN offer her a hosting job in a morning show "Umagang Kay Ganda" that was a stroke of genius, and Venus without batting an eyelash accepted the job. There were no haggling, no under the table deals ... ABS CBN just go with the jugular and cater to what Venus wants. Something close to her heart. And it worked.
Venus of course was given the chance too ... to do guest appearances in other variety and musical shows like Showtime, ASAP, and Happy, Yipi, Yehey ... and I know Venus being intellegent that she is ... is just making these shows as her stepping stones.
